Activities
Over 30 different activities are currently on offer to people attending Lazar House and Colegate, ranging from "social skills", "employment skills" and "current affairs" to "self-image", "cookery" and "out and about".
Whatever is on offer, the aim is always the same: To give people the chance to learn useful things while developing self-confidence and speaking up for themselves.
Once people have settled into Assist, they can choose which activities they would like to take part in every 3 or 4 months when the timetables are reviewed and rearranged in order to accomodate people's wishes.
Once those choices have been made, individuals are encouraged to stick to their timetables and to show a mature level of commitment as they partake in what can often be quite challenging activities.
