Assist Trust

Based in Norwich, Norfolk, the Assist Trust helps over100 people with learning difficulties to gain confidence and work towards greater independence. It supports people who want to explore the job market as well as providing assistance in all aspects of independent living. Assist Trust members are involved in decision-making at all levels of the organisation.

ACTIVITIES

To work towards greater independence, Assist members initially choose from over 30 different activities which are all designed to build confidence and provide useful life skills. Some of these are based at Assist and some in the community.

EMPLOYMENT

Assist Trust staff help individuals to understand employer's expectations and support them to find suitable opportunities in the job market. By offering appropriate and consistent support, many members have already found paid employment in this way.

INDEPENDENCE

As people gain confidence, they begin to take steps towards independence. At Assist, we can help with things like managing your own money, getting a social life and moving into more independent accomodation.
