What we do

Assist helps people with learning disabilities to become more confident and more independent in their lives – whatever their level of ability might be.

We provide lots of different groups from our different sites and out in the community, all designed to help people build confidence and learn skills that will help them manage in the real world. This principle applies to people with all sorts of strengths and needs, but each timetable is specific to each person.

Assist celebrates every step towards independence that anyone makes, no matter how small or modest that might seem to be. Some people will take a long time to manage the smallest steps, but that’s absolutely fine – we’ll take all the time that you need.
