Norfolk Care Awards 2025
Assist Trust attended the Norfolk Care Awards on 15th October! Unfortunately we didn’t win an award but were honoured to have been shortlisted. The whole Assist staff group was nominated under the “Improving Quality in Social Care” category, for their amazing work helping people to succeed in the real world. By supporting members to become more confident and to gradually learn about real life expectations, Assist is bursting the “Day Service Bubble” and helping people become active and valued citizens.
Here’s a reminder of the things Assist members have been achieving over the past year (amongst so many other things):
- 15 members were supported into voluntary placements out in the community
- 38 members were trained to work at the Assist café in the Norman Centre
- 3 members have secured and sustained paid work
- 37 individuals were travel trained by Assist staff, to help them travel from work, around the community and to work placements
- 287 members completed in-house job roles, to help them prepare for workplace expectations
- A total of 109 volunteer hours a week are currently being provided by Assist members, in their local communities
We’re delighted that the inspiring and ground-breaking work of the Assist Trust staff is now being formally recognised by others in the sector – and this is just the start of the journey!
