Travel training

For members keen and able to learn specific journeys either to and from Assist, or to work placements and other community locations, our Employment and Travel Training team are on hand to guide the way.

Over many years, this team has put together a very comprehensive and systematic process that supports individuals to learn particular routes in their communities. Individuals are supported every step of the way – for as long as it takes – and are only signed off when the team have assessed their progress fully.

For many people at Assist, travel training support has been absolutely key in helping them gain genuine independence.
