Employment

By April 2009, the Assist Trust helped a total of 26 individuals find
paid employment, with a further 45 in voluntary placements, working towards the same aim.

Staff at Assist are always on the look-out for more opportunities for the members. The ones that prove most successful are often arranged as voluntary placements initially (when people have learnt what will be expected of them in the work place) with the idea of paid hours only introduced when the individual has learnt the ropes and has proved themselves to be reliable and trustworthy.

If things don't work out for any reason, people are encouraged to learn from the experience but to not feel too disheartened and to keep looking for the next opportunity.
